3 Adorable Easter Dresses for Under $10

4 Comments 10 April 2014

When I was a little girl my mom and my grandmother would always take me to pick out an Easter Dress. I remember it was such a big deal – it involved the three of us going shopping together and trying on dress after dress until we found the perfect one.  The most important factor to me, of course, was that it have appropriate “flare” when I twirled. So with each new dress that I tried on, I would spin in circles in the dressing room to see if it made the cut or not.

Unsurprisingly, now that I have a daughter of my own, she too has opinions about the best Easter Dress for her – and it is not at all lost on me when she spins around in each one to check its “flare” factor for herself.

This year, Walmart asked us if we would like to share some of our favorite picks for Easter, so together we went to Walmart and picked out three different looks.  To up the affordability factor, we also chose a pair of adorable Faded Glory Sandals that we picked up for $12.97 to go with each look.  Ironically, the shoes were the most expensive thing we purchased – all three dresses were each priced under $10!

Then, we got dressed up for a fun photo shoot and Audrey Grace ranked each look.  Here’s what she thought–

The Winner

This Faded Glory dress was her favorite.  She loved the pink hearts and the ruffled hem and sleeves. She accessorized by adding a blue and white belt that she thought was “so fun”.   The material is thin so it is perfect for the warm California spring time weather. Out of the 3 dresses that we chose, this one was the least expensive, priced at $7.84.

The grand total for this outfit, including the shoes? $20.81

Second Place

As she put it “this dress is almost my favorite, but it needs more pink.”  Otherwise, this dress from Walmart’s George line was a real winner in the “flare” category – it did a great job of twirling! To me, this was the dressiest of the three options, and the one that looked the most like a “traditional” Easter dress.  The chiffon fabric was super soft, and I was a big fan of the asymmetrical neckline.  And of course, I had to include a close-up of the adorable shoes. We picked up this dress for a steal at $9.86.

Third (but certainly not last) Place

Audrey Grace liked this dress a lot, but gave it third place because she was worried about what would happen if she needed to eat strawberries while wearing this dress.  Would she be able to?  Would the red strawberries stain the dress?  Worse, would she JUST HAVE TO NOT EAT STRAWBERRIES IN THIS DRESS?

All fair points.

I, however, thought this A-Line Shift dress from George was simply darling. It’s hard to see the detail, but the fabric is eyelet, one of my favorites.  Coupled with the sweet little bows on the shoulders, this dress makes for an understated but adorable Easter look.

And in case you were wondering, here’s how our conversation went for these photos.

Me: “Audrey Grace, look over here and smile!”

AG: “I feel like I need to maybe look to the side. Maybe over my shoulder?”

I did not teach her that, I swear.

Again, this dress was a steal of a deal at $9.86, making the grand total for this look $22.83.

Thanks, Walmart, for the opportunity to try out a few different looks for Easter!  These are just a few of the different options, there are also great looks for boys, women (I just picked up 2 fabulous maxi dresses last week), and men, too.

Love all three dresses, great choices. Of course Audrey Grace is such a beautiful child. I’m. Guessing she will be able to eat straberries in the first two picks. I didn’t know Walmart had such precious little dresses. Thanks for this article.
