Our New Obsession: Bruxie Gourmet Waffle Sandwiches

2 Comments 01 March 2013

Our friends over at OC Mom Blog are always doing great things, so when they invited us to a special breakfast last week I knew it was going to be epic (and I was right!). It was held at Bruxie Gourmet Waffle Sandwiches right here in Orange County – which I have now determined is one of the most delicious places on earth – no exaggeration required. So I packed up Audrey Grace and we drove out to Rancho Santa Margarita to see what all of the fuss is about.

When we got there we were warmly welcomed by the Bruxie staff who promptly offered me a cup of Peet’s Coffee (they didn’t have to ask twice) and Audrey Grace a cup of Strawberry Lemonade. We graciously accepted – and I will admit that not only did I drink my coffee, but I drank half of her cup of Strawberry Lemonade. I’m a lemonade expert of sorts and I must say, this stuff was like heaven in a cup.

We were able to sample all sorts of different Gourmet Waffle Sandwiches from Bruxie. We were about to try the PB&J, the S’mores, and the Cheesy Bruxie. I must say out of all of them the S’mores was my favorite and the PB&J was Audrey Grace’s favorite. The PB&J is my 2nd runner up and I don’t even like PB&J sandwiches typically. But oh man. This was Good with a capital G. I love this photo of Audrey Grace chowing down on her PB&J Gourmet Waffle Sandwich.

And then there’s this photo of me (taken by AG) when I realized that I should have my photo taken with the S’mores Waffle Sandwich before I inhaled the entire thing. Which happened about 5 seconds after she took this photo.

Audrey Grace finished up our visit by having some frozen custard which from the oohs and ahhs around me, and from the amount of napkins it took me to wipe her face off afterwards, was very delicious. I ate one too many waffle sandwiches (and had a bit too much Strawberry Lemonade) so I was totally out of room for the custard. But it did look awfully good.

With each of the sandwiches also comes some Waffle Fries (how apropo) and Audrey Grace inhaled those – she only let me sample one! (They were so good, I can’t blame her!) There are some other amazing waffle sandwiches on the menu too – and the only one that I didn’t get to try that I really really wanted to try was the Lemon Cream and Berries – lemon is pretty much my favorite thing in the world and it sounded amazing – but I figured it was a good reason to come back.

Thanks so much to Bruxie and OC Mom Blog for including us in this fun event – it was a blast!

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post but I was invited to the event and allowed to sample the food at Bruxie free of charge. However, it really was delicious – you know I wouldn’t lie to you. :)
