I remember when I was a child, overhearing my parents talking about their appointment with their accountant to get their dreaded ‘taxes’ done. It always seemed like such serious, big adult business. And now that I’m a full-fledged adult out on my own I realize that I was right – if there is one time of the year when I’m reminded that I’m old and (mostly) responsible it is definitely tax season. The worst part is the stress that I always feel putting it all together – I’m not sure what percentage of donations I can write off, how to manage multiple streams of freelance income, and well – let’s just say I usually have so many questions that my head spins. At the heart of things, I’m simply not a numbers girl.
Luckily this year there is no need for me to fear my taxes because Walmart has a solution – in select Walmart stores you’ll find some of Walmart’s partners such as H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, and Liberty Tax who will bring you affordable tax preparation services. You can schedule an appointment, walk in, or simply drop off your documents to have your tax return prepared and filed for you – no stress required. They can even help you download your W-2 form and provide you with audit assistance. In years past I’ve actually walked past the Liberty Tax booth set up in Walmart but I assumed my household would be too complex so I’ve just walked on by. This year I think I will check it out – having my taxes done has always been a sizable expense so this would be a great way for me to try and save some money.
Not bad, right? What’s more – if, like me, that tax refund check is burning a hole in your pocket – you can cash it at Walmart for only $3! You can also simply load it onto a Walmart Money Card or any of your favorite pre-paid cards and start shopping right away!
So being the Chic Shopper Chick I’m dying to know – what will you buy with your refund check this year?
