Back to school time always seems to be this weird mix of sad and exciting. Sad that the summer is over, sad that it’s time to buckle down and study again, but exciting because there is so much new – new clothes, new school supplies, new teacher, new friends, new classroom. Truly, going back to school is a way to reinvent yourself, and I always liked that.
Of course, for parents, not only is Back to School time a bit sad because our kids are growing up, vacation is over, and we have less time with them during the school year – but it can be a bit stressful – especially when it comes to all that you have to buy to get ready for the school year. New clothes and shoes alone can create quite a hefty added expense – which is where Walmart stepped in for us this year.
First of all, if you haven’t checked out the Mix and Match Apparel tool – you should. It will give you an idea of what clothes are available at Walmart for back to school, and their prices, before you step foot in your local store. When I arrived in-store, I was already pretty sure about what I wanted to buy, which made the process go much faster.
This year as a Walmart Mom, I chose to take the Apparel Haul Challenge. Basically, I wanted to see how many items I could get for under $100 smackers. I did really well, actually. I got a ton of new clothes and two pairs of shoes for the kids for $97.48. Score!
Check out my haul video:
Some of my favorite items were the girls shorts – which were a steal at $3.47.
And as I mentioned in the video – I also really loved the colored denim. It’s such a great trend for this year, and I think the look will be just perfect on my daughter. I loved that these jeans were each under $13 a pair – I bough two!
What is your favorite item from my apparel haul at Walmart? Have you checked out Walmart for your Back To School shopping yet? You won’t be disappointed!
