Pssst! I Know The Secret To Stronger, More Beautiful Hair. {Video}

3 Comments 25 May 2012

About a month ago I was let in on an awesome secret – Unilever was releasing a new brand of haircare called “Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy” that was shaking up the way that we care for our hair.

Why is it shaking up the way that we care for our hair? Well, answer this question – when you use products on your hair – namely conditioners – where are you told to focus the products?

Yes, you’re right – we’re told to condition and focus on the ends of our hair. As a matter of fact, some folks go as far as to say that we shouldn’t put products on our scalp at all!

So here’s a question for you – did you know that 99% of all of nourishment for your hair comes from your scalp? It’s true! So why have we essentially been taught to neglect our scalps?

I received the Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner to try – and I took the 7 day challenge. The instructions on the bottle say to massage each product gently into your scalp – and for 7 days I did just that. And on the 8th day? I was honestly amazed at the difference – my hair felt stronger, softer, and more manageable (read: less frizzy). Don’t believe me? The photo below was taken on the 8th day – the day after I finished the 7 day challenge. I don’t mean to be vain, but OMG HOW GREAT DOES MY HAIR LOOK?

Ok, that was a little vain, but c’mon. That’s great hair. And I blame it all on Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy.

I was able to join 4 of my favorite women and fellow Walmart Moms in Los Angeles who also took the 7 day challenge for a video shoot, and we were all able to swap stories. Christine noticed that her hair was less frizzy, Caryn couldn’t stop talking about how much she loved the rich lather, Colleen loved the way that it smelled and Amy felt that her hair was noticeably stronger. Personally, I thought that Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy looks, lathers, and smells like a super high-end shampoo and conditioner.

Of course, we’re all still just blown away by the fact that we have been doing it backwards this entire time – the way to stronger more beautiful hair is through the scalp – not through the ends!

We had an amazing time sharing our experiences with each other and on camera – and now I am able to share my clip with you! Here is a quick 30 second clip from the shoot – check it out:

What do you think? You can see this clip plus some others now as in-store programming in Walmart Stores across the nation. You can also see some different clips from myself as well as from Colleen, Amy, Caryn, and Christine on the Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy landing page on Walmart.com. My 7 day challenge is over but I am still using Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy – and I’ve noticed that my hair feels much stronger, seems shinier and healthier, and is just generally more manageable. I’ve been using it for about a month now, and I notice that the longer I use it, the more results I see.

Have you checked out Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy yet? What do you think of the fact that 99% of the nourishment for your hair comes from your scalp – have you been doing it all wrong, too?

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post as a part of my role in the Walmart Moms program. I received product and was paid for my time in Los Angeles shooting the video. However, all opinions are, always have been, and always will be 100% my own.

    I am always looking to make my hair fuller as it is so fine and doesn’t have any body. Glad to hear there is a product out there that will help. Thanks keeping us posted on what’s new. And yes, I thought the ends were where one needed to concentrate, who knew the scalp is the secret.
